- Can a fencer participate in more than one event?
Yes, fencers can fence in multiple events over the two days. However, fencers cannot fence more than one event at the same time. If fencing overlaps, the fencer must forfeit the secondary events without a refund. Simply, the competition cannot delay bouts to accommodate delays without affecting the entire schedule.
- How long has Brock been hosting this event?
Records are not complete. Brock started hosting a university team invitational in 1986, which eventually evolved into an individual competition under the Ontario Participation Circuit. The Participation Circuit was funded by the Ontario Wintario grants and offered subsidies to both organizers and participants to take part in events, including cash-value prizes. As the circuit changed, the PC circuit, as it was called, later became the OC circuit (Ontario Challenge), but without subsidies. In 2009, changes to the Canadian domestic membership structure and ranking made the Brock event an Open competition. Over the following years, Brock has boasted some of the highest attendance numbers in Canada.
